Make New Friends in Lossiemouth at the St James’ Church Twice-monthly Drop-In

June 25, 2017 by 2

NOTICE (13 March 2020) –

The Drop-in Team have decided to temporarily discontinue the Wednesday Drop-in because of the current concerns regarding the risks from Coronavirus.

Please stay safe, and we look forward to meeting up again when things are back to normal.

Background to the drop-in…

St James’ Church Drop-In started in 2014, as a welcoming place to come for a tea / coffee and a chat.

It is open two Wednesday afternoons a month from 2.00pm (suggested donation: £1.00).

Tables are arranged so you can sit in a group and enjoy one another’s company. There is no rush and the atmosphere is warm and friendly.

A selection of delicious home bakes is offered for you to help yourself – and tea or coffee is served at your table.

All ages are made welcome.

Young children sometimes come with mum or in a family group. Grandparents often bring grandchildren during the holidays. Some people come together, but others come on their own and soon make friends. No one is left to sit by themselves.

Some people come regularly and others pop in as and when they feel like having company.

You may come as a stranger but you will leave as a friend.

Why not give the drop-in a try?

If we haven’t seen you for a while, you will be sure of a warm welcome back.

Helpers are welcome too.

Anyone who would like to help at the Wednesday Drop-In or provide home bakes, please speak to Rosemary or Elfriede. We work from a rota, so a constant commitment is not necessary.

If you have any questions at all, feel free to get in touch with us via this website.

Upcoming dates (2019/2020):

Please note there are currently no upcoming dates. The Drop-in has been temporarily discontinued due to Coronavirus.

Drop-in at St James’

November 19, 2014 by 2

In early 2014, after much thought and prayer, two of our members, Rosemary Anderson and Elfriede Buchan, got together and came up with the idea of starting a Drop-in afternoon at St James’ Church Fellowship Hall.

This takes place every Wednesday from 2pm to 3.30pm.

Come along and join in the lively chat.

Enjoy a lovely cup of tea or coffee along with the wonderful home bakes. (Often, there is tablet, which is a great treat!).

The suggested donation is £1.00 (yes, one pound) and, through the collections so far, we have been able to replace the kitchen fridge.

A committed team of helpers run the Drop-in every week.

Coming along to the Drop-in is a great way to catch up with friends and meet new ones.

Why not pop along to the Drop-in some Wednesday afternoon?

Whether you come on your own or with friends, you will be very welcome.

How it is that Christ has set us free

June 26, 2022 By 2

Sunday 26 June 2022 is the third Sunday after Pentecost.

The answer to the question implied by our headline today has a lot to do with Love – and a choice.

Below, you’ll find our ‘headline’ Scriptural passage from Paul’s letter to the Galatian Church, taken from the New Testament.
